Hatch Motors – New Co-op, cottages & apartments

Sway, Hampshire

Planning has been granted (19th March 2019) to redevelop this brownfield commercial site in Sway to support a mixed-use scheme of residential dwellings and a National convenience store.

Landmark Estates are delighted to announce that works of the redevelopment of the former Hatch Motors site, Sway has begun.  Following the completion of all legal matters, the planning approval decision was issued at the end of May 2019.  Since that date, contractors and specialist consultants have been preparing their detailed building regulation drawings and technical reports.  In October, site clearance, tree protection / selective removal and investigative land contamination work all commenced, in accordance with the planning conditions.  We are pleased to confirm that all demolition works have now been completed and a Phase II Land Contamination Report has been submitted to the Council for their approval.  An application for the discharge of proposed materials will also follow shortly.

Construction works are scheduled for December.  James Bradley, Managing Director says “This is the start of the exciting new development that will deliver 4 x cottage-style dwellings, 4 x apartments and a new convenience store for the benefit of local people.  The mixed-use Co-op and apartment building, fronting Station Road, will be very well designed with tile hanging and decorative banding under a red clay tile roof.  It will be enclosed by a wall and a traditional picket fence.  This will create an interesting and attractive building which will reflect Station Road’s local characteristics.”
